Better Bend
Requires Blender 5.0 or later
Precision Bending Node for Blender
A Geometry Nodes-based tool for clean, predictable bending.
Why does this exist?
Bending geometry in Blender works in some cases with the Simple Deform modifier, but falls apart when you want more than a basic curve. It works well for quick tests and simple bends on single objects, but often introduces distortion and limited control. It's also incompatible with geometry nodes setups, making it difficult to bend many objects with one setup. Better Bend was created to solve this.
What does it do?
This node group gives you a clean, artist-friendly way to bend using geometry nodes introduced in Blender 5.0. The built-in gizmos allow you to intuitively control the bending position, direction, and orientation, directly in the viewport.
Because it's built on Geometry Nodes, the same bending setup can be applied consistently across multiple objects, making it easy to achieve predictable, repeatable results in procedural or motion-driven workflows. You have full control over where the bending starts and ends, as well as the direction and orientation the geometry deforms, making it easy to art-direct results.
Key benefits
- Intuitive viewport gizmo for fast, artist-friendly control
- No empties
- Full control over bending region, direction, and falloff
- Clean, predictable deformation results
- Consistent results across multiple objects via Geometry Nodes
- Fully non-destructive, procedural workflow
Who is this for?
This tool is ideal for Blender motion designers, product visualizers, and anyone who needs controlled bending without relying on destructive modifiers, trial-and-error adjustments, or unnecessary empties.
